We have all been anticipating this moment, and the wait is finally over. 9thDan.com is officially open to the public. 9thDan.com is a unique collaboration between martial arts instructors and enthusiasts like you. We work directly with schools and instructors to produce original training videos, and we want to get you involved in designing these videos! Check out our Club Martial 9 page for detail.
In our first video project, we are proud to present Master Hye Kyoung Kim, of Eagle Talon Martial Arts Academy, in our first Hapkido video series. Master Kim is an accomplished Hapkido instructor with extensive knowledge in various martial arts. He has served as a Major in the South Korean Special Force and infuses his Hapkido teaching with real life combat experiences. You can find Master Kim in the upcoming 2nd annual Hap Ki Do Seminar held in Geneva, IL, nearby Chicago where he will be demonstrating knife defense techniques. This event will take place on May 17th.
In this phase one of our Hapkido video series, Master Kim demonstrates punch defense and advanced knife defense techniques. These videos provide extensive details and concepts for each skill in ways unprecedented in most other videos. These videos are now available for instant download. Make sure you go to our Preview page and check out the video preview.

As mentioned in our last update, the 9thDan.com Hapkido video series is almost ready for release. This series is designed and performed by Eagle Talon Martial Arts Academy’s Master Hye Kyoung Kim (Master Kim is a retired Major from the South Korean Special Forces. He has over thirty years of experience in martial arts). This series aims to be different from a lot of the videos out on the market today in terms of its features and that the videos are downloadable.
The videos are designed to be uncommonly detailed. Each video starts with providing a general explanation on relevant Hapkido concepts. Each skill is then performed with step-by-step explanation, shown through multiple camera angles and close-up picture in picture, and finally demonstrated as a solo “shadow exercise” practice.
We will initially release a small number of videos from the series. The initial release is set to be some time around February 2008. Stay tuned for more as we are putting in the finishing touches!

Speaking of update, 9thDan.com is almost ready for the public. The site should be up and running within the month. We are very proud to feature Master Hye Kyoung Kim from Eagle Talon Martial Arts Academy (http://www.eagletalonusa.com/) in our first video line up. We will initially release a handful of Master Kim’s Hapkido videos, and will continue to release more as they come off the production line, so to speak.
Awhile back a preview trailer of Master Kim’s video was posted on YouTube. Please check it out below.
